*** In the Flesh Tour :: Leg 2: North America ***

Personnel: David Gilmour :: Nick Mason :: Roger Waters :: Richard Wright .

Notes: This superb audience recording captures Pink Floyd at the Boston Garden during their American leg of 1977’s In The Flesh tour. The instruments are almost perfectly balanced with a nice clear punchy drum sound. It’s not quite as vivid or full sounding as the Oakland show from May 9th but definitely one of the better sounding ones from the tour. Comments around the microphone are kept to a minimum but can be faintly heard in places.<-(Info taken from collectorsmusicreviews.com).

Notes: Excellent Soundcheck Disc. Paul And The Guys Are Having Fun. Sound Is Superb.

Review By Beatle Bob: -This Release Is A Big Surprise, Turning Out To Be One Of The More Delightful And Fun Live Cds From Paul I Have In My Collection! Paul's Been Known To Be Loose And A Bit Free-Spirited,(And Quite Enjoying Himself When Not Sticking To The "script Of His Live Shows") During His Sound Checks (Though It's Obvious Even The Jams Presented Here Are More Or Less Well-Rehearsed, Not Leaving Much Room For Improvisation).

There Is Controversy As To Whether This Cd's Tracks Are Presented In The Correct Order (I Sense They're Not Based On Comments Paul Makes That Don't Apply To Some Of The Forthcoming Tracks). Unfortunately, I Don't Have Any Sound Checks To Compare From In 2005, And Have Not Been Aware Of Any Surfacing On Bootleg? This Aside... I Must Tell You That None Of It Distracts From The Great Quality Of The Disc. The Performances Are Top-Notch From The Band. The Vocal And Instrumental Balance Is Nearly Perfect. The Real Highlight, Is The Unexpected And Fantastic Stereo Separation Presented. I Think I Now Prefer Sound Check Mixes!.

Notes: First An Apology. I Uploaded This Boot In 2007 With A Wrong Date As Tokyo 1980-04-15. At That Time Two New Silver Boots From The Tokyo 1980 Shows Were Released, "shakedown" From April 14th And "sing For Me Tokyo" From April 15th. Shakedown Was Exactly The Same Show As The "tokyo Bites" Boot (Only A Different Source), That Had Been Circulating For Years With A 1980-04-15 Date And "sing For Me Tokyo" Was A Different Show. So I Thought That The New Boots Were Labelled Wrongly. But Last Year Another Boot "tokyo Choir" From 1980-04-15 Appeared, Being From The Same Show As The "sing For Me Tokyo" Boot.
Considering That "tokyo Bites" Originally Only Claimed To Be From Tokyo 1980 (Just The "rock Me Baby" Silver From The Same Source Explicitely Said April 15th) I Now Believe That Someone Made A Mistake Back Then Giving These Boots A 1980-04-15 Date And That All The New Silvers Have The Right Date

This Is The Recent Release Entitled This Flyer Put Out By Scorpio Records. As Most Of You Know, There Has Already Been A Vinyl Release By This Name (It Was The First Bootleg Ever Released Of Jimi Hendrix) And A Two-Cd Release Which Incorporated Some Of The Vinyl Material As Well As Some Additional Music. “Now Comes This Release, Which Turned Up A Few Months Ago. Still Called This Flyer, It Contains Material Which, As Far As I Can Tell, Is Mostly Uncirculated. The Sound Quality Is Excellent, There Is Little Doubt It Is Copied Off The Master Reels. Where These Master Reels Came From Or How They Got There Is Still Up For Speculation. These Jams Purport To Be From The Traver Hollow House Which Jimi Rented Around The Time Of Woodstock In Shokan, Ny. Since These Were Not ‘official’ Studio Sessions Documentation Is Sketchy To Say The Least.<-(Info taken from original nfo file).

Special Guest Musician: Keith Moon.

Notes: Great release with great artwork, 2 source mix - well done, worth getting (taken from stryder.de). This is an awesome show, one of the greatest from the 1977 US tour. Anyhow, this is one of the legendary Mike Millard's audience recordings and is in really good sound quality for an audience recording from the time. Millard missed the beginning of the show so these tracks are taken from another source, but Millard's recording makes up the majority of the show. Also, in an undoubted piece of rock n' roll history, Keith Moon makes an appearance towards the end of the show and duets with Bonham on "Moby Dick"! This is the most complete version of this show and overall the best quality.
